Green Canyon

Mitchel- doing a twist off the diving board.
Savanna jumping off the diving board.

Treyton in the cold pool- it didn't even bother him, of course it wasn't all the way full when he got in it.

Mitchel on the Dobie's turtle.
Reid and Carolina- isn't she so cute!

Treyton, me (eww the dreaded swimming suit shot) and Carolina- she only lasted a few minutes.

Mitchel- while he was feeing good today.

Carolina in her cute swimming suit

We went camping this weekend at Green Canyon with some friends the Dobies, we had a lot of fun and it is kind of a nice end to our camping season ( I think). The kids had a lot of fun playing in the water, and even Carolina got to swim for the first time. We had a fun time camping also. The Dobie's got a new camper and so they wanted to get out and camp, it was fun to go with them and get to know their family.
Savanna and Mitchel did flips for the first time off the diving board- unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them doing them. Also poor Mitchel got sick, he has a terrible stomach ache, he was up in the night crying, and he has been sick on and off all day today- it has progressively gotten worse as the day has gone on. If he doesn't get better we may have to take him to the doctor.

First day on the bus

We were all excited for Thursday, this was the day that Mitchel was able to ride the bus for the first time. It was really nice not having to take him back and forth to school and back. He loves riding the bus, especially since his wonderful cousin Easton let him sit by him.

We made it through our first day back to school!

Mitchel in his class. He gets to sit by Tyler Hansen and Gabe Bingham. And across from him at his same table is Dawson Abrams, Ally Staker, and Brylee Panchari. It is nice that they are all in our ward. Also in his class is Kaden Taylor from our ward- There are probably other kids too but I can't think of them right now.
Mitch and Savanna in front of the school
I feel bad that they had their jackets on and you can't see their cute shirts. (oh well.)
Sorry that you see my messyhouse in the background.

Treyton, Mitch and Savanna enjoying their french toast breakfst. I made them put bibs on so that the syrup wouldn't spill on their new shirts.

Today Savanna started 1st grade and Mitchel started kindergarten. It was a very good day. Although I felt like all I did was take them to school, turn around and go get Mitch and then turn around and go get Savanna. The day flew by since they didn't ride the bus today.

Mitchel said he likes school, which is a huge relief since he hasn't been very excited about it. I hope that he continues to like it once they actually get into the work. His comment that was funny was "We didn't get to play with the blocks because we ran out of time." They also did a little assignment and brought it home and where it has Name_____ he wrote just many random letters. He can't seem to get his name down even though I have been trying to work with him on it. I hope that he picks it up fast. Last week when I asked him to write it he was able to get Mit and then I had to help him with the rest.

Savanna acted like an old pro and had no problem whatsoever. She told me that they watched a movie about a girl named Rachel and that she was nice to everyone. (Their school is doing "Rachel's challenge" it is an anti-bullying campaign type thing and they are trying to teach the kids to be kind. Rachel is named after a girl that was killed in the Columbine shootings.) I think it is great.

We got up in the morning and I made them french toast and bacon. Which for me is a big deal since it is usually cereal or toast at our house for breakfast. I am not a big breakfast fan. The kids loved it. I hope that they don't count on it every morning- although I told them that I would make them eggs tomorrow. We will see how long this lasts. I think that the getting them to bed early is tough, but even worse is getting them up early. So we really have to work on this at our house. Last night they were to sleep by 9:00, which is sad considering I put them to bed at 8:00. Tonight I put them to bed by 8:15 and they are now asleep at 8:50 pm, so it is getting better.

Hopefully it will all become routine and get easier each night.
Here are some pictures from today.

Camping by the Teton River

Our campsite.
Reid and his fish!

Carolina

Mitchel

Reid and Treyton- he loved getting rides on the 4-wheeler, he kepts wanting to trade. He wanted to ride our 4-wheeler and then Grandpa's 4-wheeler.

Carolina and Me. This is how I spent most of the trip. She wouldn't sleep during the day unless I was holding her. As soon as I put her down she would wake up. But she slept great at night.

Treyton in his helmuk (as he refers to it.)

We went camping up by Driggs this last weekend by the Teton River. This is a place that we have gone to serveral times since we have been married and somewhere that Reid has been going to since he was a little child. He has lots of memories there. We had fun, except it was really hot. The kids really enjoyed riding around on their little 4-wheeler and Reid caught several fish which he loved.

Lori and Aaron and their kids joined us on friday afternoon, and Reid's parent's came friday night. We had lots of fun visiting and letting the kids play together.
Reid hauled the 5th wheel and then a trailer behind the 5th wheel with the 4-wheelers on it. On our way home the truck started making a bad noise, he thinks that there is something wrong with the rear end. We are worried that we were hauling too much weight and that is what caused the problem. It just makes you kind of sick to think that for a weekend of fun we may have caused a huge problem with the truck that will be really expensive to fix.

Koala Kids

This is us on the pony ride.

Last week the kids and I went into Koala Kids for their annual summer carnival. They do cotton candy, a blow up bouncer, fish pond, bean bag toss and a few other games. They also do pony rides. It was fun to go and spend the time with my kids their just as their Mom instead of as an employee. I am usually the one that makes the cotton candy, but since I am on maternity leave I didn't have to work it this year. We had lots of fun. Only one more week and I am back to work, I love my job but I am dreading having to be somewhere early in the morning 2 days a week. I'm sure it will be fine especially since we will have to be up early anyway for school for Savanna and Mitchel.

I can't believe my two babies will be in school tomorrow!!! Time flies.

1/2 way to a resolution- not quite there yet.

Several posts ago I shared my frustration over the wrong spelling of Carolina's name on her birth certificate. They had it as Caroline, which is a perfectly fine name, but not her name. I had to fill out a correction (keep in mind I filled out the original paperwork correctly, someone either couldn't read my writing, or didn't look close enough, or decided that it couldn't possibly by Carolina). The correction had to be notorized, so I luckily have an aunt that is a notary so she did that for us. The correction was then sent back to us because we missed that she had to notorize it in two spots on the correction. So we had to re-fill out the paperwork, have her notorize it again- both spots this time. So finally I got the notice in the mail this week that the birth certificate is correct. But of course, they won't send me a copy of that without $13.00 and another form filled out, with a copy of my photo ID. In the mean time I get Carolina's Social Security card and it is also spelled wrong, so I call them. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes they tell me they can correct it with a copy of the corrected birth certificate which I have to pay to get. This is beurocracy at its best! But I guess I will do it so that my beautiful daughter will have her correct name on her social security card. GRrrr! (As aunt Val would say!)

Cooper- not sure what his mask is, but it didn't seem to bother Carolina

Tonight we were able to celebrate with my nephew Cooper for his 5th birthday. They had a really fun party planned. Cooper's Grandpa Miller painted faces on all the kids and they were able to do a pinata. Everyone had lots of fun tonight. Here are some fun pictures.

Romrell Reunion 2009

This last weekend we had the annual Romrell reunion at Heise. Reid and I and the kids decided to take the opportunity to camp out up by Heise. We were able to camp one night with Val and Layne and their kids. It was a lot of fun. We spent the night on Thursday and Friday. On friday we spent the day swimming at Heise, and then on Saturday we were going to go boating up to Blacktail, but the weather was too cold. So instead we all met at a church and had lunch. It was fun to just get together and visit with all our cousins. I feel so lucky to come from such a good family. On friday night we had a little devotional and each family had a representative tell of something that they do in their own family that has been passed down from Grandma and Grandpa. It was really neat to hear everybody, they have a great legacy and posterity.

We also got a new (very used) 5th wheel. Reid found a really good deal in the thrifty nickel and couldn't pass it up. We are now going to sell our other trailer. It is also very used. We are pretty excited to have an upgrade, and more room for camping. The kids absolutely love it.

I didn't get any pictures from the reunion, but Reid took a picture of our new 5th wheel.

Ross Park

My Mom, Carolina and Ruth (Ruth is such a great Aunt- she was helping my kids to learn to swim)
Treyton and Savanna eating their lunch
Savanna and Easton in the lazy river

Mitch, Cooper and Elijah playing in the kid pool

Savanna Banana

My Mom and Treyton- What would we do without Grandma?

This last week we had the chance to go to Ross Park with some of my family. Ruth and her kids came, my Mom, Angie and her kids, Angie's Mom and Sister-in-law came and one of her sisters and kids. There were a lot of people there, but we had a ton of fun. This is such a great place for kids. I highly recommend it to anyone! We also ran into a whole bunch of girls from our ward, it was fun to see them all there as well. I only got a few pictures, I always wish that I had gotten more.

Carolina is 2 months old and Tautphaus Park

Elijah and Treyton on the Merry Go Round
Easton and Savanna on the Octopus
Savanna and Easton getting on the Octopus
The airplane ride at FunLand- I think that is the back of Mitch's head

My Carolina- 2 months old yesterday

It seems impossible, but my little baby girl is already 2 months old. We took her to the doctor today and she weighs 10 lbs and 15 oz and is 22 inches long. She is in the 55th percentile for her weight and 45th percentile for her heighth. She got her shots today, and so she has been a little grumpy so far this evening.
In other news, last week we went to the Tautphaus Park Funland and park with some of my family. It was a fun afternoon and the kids had a lot of fun, even though it was blasted hot! I didn't get very many good pictures at Funland.
