A trip to Coeur d"Alene

Me trying to throw a strap, what a joke, I couldn't get it to go over the truck, I am such a wimp!
Reid tightening down the strap on the lumber load.

We passed a natural spring and loaded up on some great tasting water in Montana
I got the chance to go in the truck with Reid for 2 days, he had a salt load up to Coeur d'Alene, and I haven't ever had the chance to go there.  I wanted to go and see what he has been talking about.  It was a gorgeous drive and I had a great time hanging out with my husband and enjoy his company.  The bad thing was that his truck only has a twin bed in it, so we had to squish on the bed (it's a good thing that we like each other.)  I also had problems with my legs and feet swelling from sitting so long.  But it is good to see what Reid does and appreciate how hard he works for our family!

Sargent Family Reunion 2012

This year for the Van and LarRene Sargent family reunion Steve and Angie were in charge of it.  They planned a great low-key reunion at Rigby Lake.  It was perfect because with everything going on with the family this year going to a far-away place just didn't seem to be very practical.  Between Sara having new baby twins, Mom and Dad taking care of Grandparents and Reid on the road all week this ended up being the best solution.

Rigby Lake has undergone a lot of improvements and it is really a nice place to stay.  They have electricity and water hook ups.  It made it really nice for us to plug in our trailer and have air-conditioning.  It was very hot- like upper 90's so the air conditioning was heaven sent.

Friday evening we had a nice dinner and then went over to a grass area and had a fun family softball game.  It was actually a lot of fun.  It was really fun to see the everyone playing so well and had some good laughs with Leah taking a tumble, and to see Sara who just delivered twins after being on bed rest for 4 months running around the bases.  Mitchel had a bit of an attitude saying "I just don't like the idea of playing softball at a family reunion."  He ended up having fun, and even Reid got into the action and hit a home run with a ball going clear back into the trees never to be found again.  I loved watching Treyton getting into the action, he, Savanna, Easton, and Cooper love the game.

We also floated the River by Rigby Lake on Saturday morning, that was very fun and relaxing.  It was pretty un-eventful other than a few incidents with float tubes getting holes in them.  Reid had to get out after just a few minutes cause our brand new row boad got a hole in it and right at the end of the ride Savanna and Easton's floaty went flat and they had to walk the rest of the way home.

I was loving my lounge chair to float down the river in, it was quite flat by the end of the ride

Easton had a fun little craft for the kids, they all made their own catapults, which they loved.  Then we spent the rest of the day playing at the lake.   It was really nice to be able to enjoy each others company and relax a bit.

This is the group of girls from softball, we had a little water/pizza party at our house for having such a great season of softball.

I have gotten a little behind on my blog, we have been so busy with everything going on this summer that I haven't had a chance to keep the blog up to date.  Here are a few pictures from some of our summer activities.

Savanna's softball 2012

This year Savanna played girls softball and had a great year!  Tonya Byington and I were her coaches.  I really underestimated how their team would do, but they turned out to have a great season, and in fact when we went into the end of year tournament we were seeded 2nd.  Savanna did especially well, she averaged 2 homerun almost every game and she fielded the ball so well.  It was really fun to watch her have so much success.  I feel bad because I didn't get any pictures taken because I was too busy coaching the team.  I found myself very obsessed with her softball team, I spent lots of time trying to figure out their line up and their positions.  I found myself being way to competitive about it and had to try to not get so involved and remember that it was about the girls having fun, and not winning.  During the tournament the girls did really well, but they were very stressed and took it very serious, I didn't realize it until I noticed several girls crying because they missed balls or struck out.  After that I really tried to make it more about having fun.  In the end we didn't win the tournament or really do that well, but I feel like we had a very successful and fun year!

Mitchel's pitching machine team 2012

This was Mitchel's first year of being on a pitching machine team.  He got to play on his aunt Ruth and Angie's team with his cousins and friends.  They struggled a bit this year with it being their first year of doing pitching machine, but I think that they had a lot of fun.  He  keeps telling me that baseball is not his sport, that he would rather be doing wrestlling or football, but I am not letting him give it up.  He is actually not a bad player.  At the beginning of the year he was hitting the ball every time he got up to bad, then about half way through the season he struggled and was striking out quite a bit and so I think he got a little discouraged.  I think we will have him play a few more years before I let him give it up, I think that it is good to be part of a team at this age.

4th of July

We had a busy but great 4th of July.  It was nice because Reid was able to come home the evening of the 3rd and go with us to a picnic over at his parents home.  The Hamilton's were in town so we got to spend some time with them.  Then on the morning of the 4th I got up bright and early and ran the Firecracker 5k.  I was pretty excited because I cut 5 minutes off my time from last year.  This year I ran it in 29 minutes (now I know that for most people that is slow, but for me it was a record.)  Then I met Reid and the kids at the parade.  The parade was really fun and relaxed this year.  We sat with my family and we were lucky enough to get a shady spot and I was actually a bit cold during the parade which was kind of nice after running 3.1 miles.

After the parade we went over to my parents house and had a bbq.  It was just a nice relaxing time with my family.  Then I unfortunately had to send Reid back on the road.  After that the kids and I went over to the Shilo Inn (where Reid's parents had a room for the 4th of July) and we swam for a couple of hours with the Hamilton and Anglin cousins. Grandma Mickey and Danny were also there watching.  The kids had a great time playing in the pool and hot tub.

Then I took my exhausted bunch home to get ready to go to the fireworks.  I didn't want to go at all, but was game for it.  On a whim I asked them if they really wanted to go back for the fireworks, or if they would rather rent a Redbox, to my suprise and delight they chose a Redbox.  So I spent my 4th of July night watching the Muppets with my kids.  Then around 9:30 Stevan and his kids invited us to come over and watch them light off their fireworks- they also stayed home.  It was the best, and honestly I didn't even miss going to see the big show. (I think I am turning into my Father, which is not a bad thing.)  All in all it was a great holiday, and I was glad to get to bed at a decent time since I had to go to work early Thursday morning.

New Camera

We went to the drive in movie, when we got home the kids wanted to sleep the rest of the night in the truck.  So we took their picture all cozy, then 15 minutes later they all came in the house because it was too hot in the garage.
Reid, Savanna and Brooklynn Jennings- at our KKA bbq
My cute Carolina!

I lost my camera, again...sigh.  I kept hoping that it would surface but after over a month of no camera and missing lots of fun photo opportunities I decided we needed to get a new one.  It's a good thing I started donating plasma, I used my "blood money" to purchase a new camera.  Same one as we had before but the newer model.  A Nikon Coolpix.  I really like these camers's, hopefully I don't lose this one.  Here are just a few of the fun pictures I took so far.

Treyton and t-ball

'
Treyton played t-ball for the 2nd year this year.  You can tell from the pictures that he loved it!!  He was so excited each day and was always asking me when his games were.  On his last game he was very sad that he was done.  I am so happy that he had so much fun.  He got to play with his best buds, his cousin McKay, his friends Ammon and Karson and several other fun friends.  Tonya Byington and Amy Hales were his coaches, they did a great job, what a fun year!
