Potty training- no such luck!

I was fully prepared to spend the day today in the bathroom with Treyton and get him potty trained. I did this same thing with Mitchel and he was potty trained in 1 day, but after a couple of hours I have given up. My strategy was to have him drink tons of liquids, eat salty snacks (to make him thirsty), and have him sit on the potty chair while we read stories and played games. This lasted all of about 15 minutes and he wanted off the chair. So I let him get off for a minute and he wet his pants. He wanted his diaper back on and he was done. I even had a whole bunch of dollar store prizes all wrapped and ready to let him pick a prize every time he went in the toilet. Maybey he isn't ready yet, I am a firm believer that if you wait until they are really ready it will be much easier. I am just so sick and tired of changing his poopy diapers. Maybey I will try again tomorrow and see if it goes better- at least now he knows how it feels to have wet pants. If anyone has any suggestions I will take them!

Why is it so hard?

I have started trying to lose some weight, and it just seems to be extra hard. I feel like as soon as I decide that I am really going to watch it, all I can think about is food and treats. I have always found with each one of my babies that while I am nursing I just want to eat non-stop, well you can't do that and still lose weight, but yet I need to make sure and eat enough so that I don't lose my milk supply. It is really hard to find that happy medium and the self-control!! I wish there was a magic pill (that didn't cause heart problems- you all remember phen-phen).

This last weekend we had the Fuhriman family reunion at Redfish Lake. It is such a beautiful place to be, we had a lot of fun. Here are a few things to share about the weekend.
*Fun in the freezing cold lake water

*Yummy food- too much of it!

*Long nights in the camper with a sick little Treyton- throwing up, fever, and coughing.

*Catching up with family- nice visits around the camp fire and in the shade during the day.

*Lots of sun and heat- I've learned to appreciate air conditioning all over again.

*Watching the kids ride their bikes and have fun playing with their cousins.

*Lots of mesquito bites.
*Life long memories for the kids.

Overall it was a really fun time, and I'm glad we went, but also very glad to be home in my nice air conditioned house with a shower!

Yeah!! Here are some of the pictures from our family reunion. (I was so relieved, there were over 100 pictures- and some really great ones if you ask me!)

2009 Sargent Reunion

We just finished our annual Van Sargent family reunion this weekend, we had a lot of fun.

This year we tried something different, instead of going to a different location and stay for the weekend we stayed here in IF, and just did some fun things around here together. We saved a lot of money by doing it that way.

On Friday we went to Blacktail and went boating, waterskiing and tubing. We also did some fishing and almost everyone caught a fish. It was a beautiful day and everyone had lots of fun. Friday night we got a babysitter for all the kids and the adults went out to dinner and bowling. It was really nice to be able to spend time with just the grown-ups and enjoy adult conversation. Friday night all the kids slept over at Ruth's house, most of the adults got to go home and sleep in their own beds, except for Reid and Steve who stayed to be their with their kids.

On Saturday we all drove to Lava Hot Springs and went swimming and the men got to go golfing. It was really crowded, but it was also a lot of fun. I haven't been to Lava for probably about 20 years and everyone had a lot of fun. Aunt Val and her family got to come and spend time with us their also. Saturday night we had a BBQ at Ruth and Kents house and Reid set up a tent in their back yard for the kids to sleep in. Although it ended up only being my kids and Reid that slept in it.

Today we had breakfast and a family devotional and played some games and then had a delicous lunch/dinner and cleaned up and came home. Now it is just time to recover.

My saddest news is that I had over 30 pictures on my camera from the weekend and somehow when I was transferring them onto my computer there was a malfunction and they are all gone now from my computer and from my camera. I am so sad, I had so many cute pictures and they are all gone!!! Sometimes I hate technology- you can't live with it and you can't live without it.

Carolina's Baby Blessing

We blessed Carolina today at church, Reid gave her a wonderful blessing. We had tons of support from our family. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful family in our lives. Carolina is such a sweet baby, and I am so happy that she is in our family. After church we had everyone over for dinner, it was really fun to be able to hang out with both sides of our family. Life is good!

Carolina wore the same blessing dress that Savanna wore. My Mom made it for Savanna when she was born. Hopefully they won't fight over who gets it when they get older!

4th of July Weekend

My cute kids in their 4th of July outfits
Carolina- 1 month old!
Mitch, Treyton, Sarah and Savanna watching the fireworks

Reid, lighting sparklers for James, Alex and Treyton
My sister Sara waterskiing- I didn't dare try yet- so fresh from having a baby.

What a fun and busy 4th of July weekend. The fun began on friday when we went up to Blacktail and went boating. The kids all got to ride on the tube and they loved it. Friday night we went over to Reid's parents house and had dinner and did our own little fireworks show.

On Saturday Reid got up and took our 3 oldest to the parade while I stayed home and tried to get our house ready for Caroline's blessing party. We then had a BBQ and went to the fireworks. It was such a fun, but exhausting day! I love the 4th of July and feel so lucky to live in such a great country!
