Savanna's Tumbling Recital

Savanna's class!

Last night Savanna had her "Dance for Kids" recital. She has been taking tumbling this year and she has loved it. This is her third year taking from Nancy Jackson. Last year she took tap and ballet, but she has loved tumbling more. She did so good last night. I was very proud of her. It was fun to go and watch all the kids last night. Nancy did a fantastic job.

McKay's 1st Birthday Party!

Savanna & Kate

McKay and his 1st b-day cake

Baby Kate
Savanna, Elijah & Mitchel

Tonight we celebrated my nephew McKay's Birthday! We had pizza and birthday cake. Ok, enough of the junk food. I am really ready to get back on my diet. Any way the party was fun and the kids had fun playing with each other. McKay seemed excited and enjoyed digging into his first piece of birthday cake. We also got to see baby Kate again and I finally got some pictures of her.

Val and Layne at the Memorial day party!

Memorial Day!

Sara and McKay and Grandma Sargent

This has been a busy, but fun Memorial Day weekend. Last night we had a bon fire over at my parents house, and a bunch of family and friends came over to roast hot dogs and marshmellows. The kids had so much fun and did not want to come home and go to bed last night. Today we went to my Aunt Karleen's house for lunch, we had planned a picnic at Freeman Park but because of the rain we couldn't do that. It was fun, the kids just played, and played with their cousins. Mitchel played so hard with Elijah, they went out and played in rain a little while and got soaked. Savanna played with Karlee and some of the big girls and got to play games with them. She didn't want to come home when it was time. I enjoyed visiting with family that we rarely get to see.

Little Baby "Kate" born today!

My first niece on the Sargent side was born today. Kate Sargent made here entrance into the world this morning at 8:30 am. She was 7 lbs, 7 oz, and both Mom and baby are doing great! She is darling. I didn't get any pictures of her yet. When we went to the hospital she had lots of visitors and she was starting to get a little fussy. I felt like there was a little too much confusion to take out my camera. But hopefully tomorrow I will get some. She is very cute though, she has cute strawberry blonde hair. I am so excited that all went well with Angie's C-section and that everything is great with the baby.

The "Today Show"

We actually got on the Today Show on Monday. Al Roker came and talked to us. It was so fun!! We called everyone to have the DVR it.

Me in Brooklyn New York

Ok, so I got home late last night after a long day of travel from New York. We had a great time and I am so glad that I went, but I am even happier to be home. Being gone made me appreciate my life here at home. I missed Reid and the kids a lot. But we really did have a great time in New York City and it was a great experience to see this different side of the country. We went to two Broadway shows, "The Lion King" and "Curtains" they were both really good and totally different from each other. Lion King was spectacular and beautiful but it felt a little long to me. Curtains was funny and great, I think that I enjoyed "Curtains" just a little bit more. We did a couple of different tours that took us around the city. This was great because we got to see the important sites like ground zero, Empire state building, and Central Park-very beautiful. we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge at night which was so cool because we saw a great view of the city at night. We took the Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island which gave us a great view of the Statue of Liberty. We went to the Museum of Natural History (where Night at the Museum was filmed) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both were good-but not my favorite part of the trip. I am not much of a museum person. We shopped at the "American Girl" store-which was so fun to buy some things for Savanna and FAO Schwartz- where they filmed the Movie Big with the Big Piano in it, that was the most amazing toy store. Anyway it was great. We all got along good and were very patient with each other. I was really impressed with Sara and Ruth and their navigating skills. And I was really proud of my Mom for keeping up with us. My favorite parts of the trip were 1- Going to the top of the Empire State building. 2- riding the subway 3- the broadway shows, 4- the food, 5- Going to China town and illegally buying knock off designer purses. (Sara and Ruth getting in the mini van full of them.) 6- Getting on the Today Show. But it was all great!!!

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today.....

Well, actually I am leaving tomorrow morning early for New York City!!! If I can make it there, I'll make it any where!! Hee Hee. Anyway, I am really excited for my trip to the big city. I am going to NYC with my sisters and my Mom. We have 2 broadway shows booked, a couple of different tours and some reservations at restaraunts all lined up. I am leaving Reid home with the children for 6 days (5 nights). He should be just fine. He is looking forward to some time off from his site job, but I don't think he realizes how much work it is to be home with 3 children. Anyway, I am really looking forward to it. Reid bought me a new camera today, since our old one was starting to not work so great and we needed a new memory card. So I am feeling spoiled. Any way I will take lots of pictures and post them when I get back!!

Mother's Day

Here is a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Sargent with all her grandkids!!

For Mother's Day this year Reid and the kids made me a card and gave me a gift certificate to go get flowers to plant in my flower garden. I am so excited. That is my favorite thing about spring and summer are the flowers. I have learned to love to work in my flower garden. There is nothing better than having a beautiful flower garden and to know that you are responsible for making it that way. We had a great day, the kids sang Mother's day songs in Sacrament meeting and we went to my Mom's after church for dinner. We also celebrated my Dad, Ruth and Stevan's birthday's. It was almost like Christmas over there because there were so many gifts exchanged. Me and my sisters all helped make dinner, it was delicious. We had homeade lasagne, salad, fresh fruit, and bread. I am so lucky to have such a great family.

On Saturday Reid, the kids and I took his Mom out to lunch with Lori her kids, and Ben and Holly. We went to Sizzler, it was a little crazy with all the kids, but we had fun. With Reid working Sunday night there was no way we would be able to fit in both families on Sunday, so we decided to celebrate Mother's Day with her on Saturday. It was good.

Aunt Leah, Treyton, Mitch & Savanna

Leah came over to our house the other day to watch the kids while I went out to run some errands. She is so good to us. She helps me out more than she will ever know. The kids love to play with Aunt Leah. She gets down and plays with them. Mitchel also loves that she is his teacher at Koala Kids.

Aunt Sara & Savanna bowling

I thought I needed to post of Picture of Aunt Sara since I was talking about her. This is a picture of her when we were down in Salt Lake staying with her. We went down there a couple of weeks ago so that Reid could paint her basement. She took us bowling at fat cats and the kids had so much fun staying at her house.

Savanna's tumbling picture

Savanna has been taking tumbling this year from Nancy Jackson. She has really loved it, today she had pictures taken in her costume. Her recital is on May 29th. She looked so cute today. She has gotten really good at head stands, cartwheels, and summersaults. This has been really good for her.

Aunt Sara's Japan Trip

Aunt Sara went to Japan this last month. She came to Idaho Falls for the weekend and brought all her nieces and nephews fun souveniers. She is such a great aunt. All the kids love her so much. She brought everyone Kumono's (I don't know if that is how you spell it) and the boys ninja swords, and Savanna a cute Japanese doll.

Treyton's trip to Urgent Care

Today Treyton and Savanna went outside together and were jumping on the neighbor's trampoline, while they were out there for not even 5 minutes Savanna came running in and said that Treyton was hurt. I went running out there and he had a gash on his forehead. He hit is head on the bar. It looked pretty bad, so we were off to Urgent Care. He didn't end up needing stitches, but instead they put a kind of super glue on it and patched him up that way. He was really brave and didn't even cry. The Dr. said that he will have a pretty good scar there unfortunately. I feel so lucky that it wasn't anything more serious.

Today is our 7th anniversary

Today is Reid and I's 7th wedding anniversary. It doesn't feel like it has been that long. For our anniversary we went to Jaker's with our friends Natalie and Josh. Reid got me a hanging flower plant, and a nice card. I got him some work gloves (I'm not very romantic). I have attached a picture of Reid and I from when we were engaged, we took this picture at Jackson Hole.

Treyton's first week of nursery

Today was Treyton's first "official" week of nursery. We actually took him 2 weeks ago for about 1/2 the time but stayed with him the whole time. I can't believe that he is already 18 months old. He is growing up so fast. He did good today. Reid took him and stayed with him for about 10 minutes, and then I came in for a little while and then we left him and he was just fine. But after Sunday School Reid peeked in to check on him and Treyton saw him, so he wanted to go with him. But it was so cute to see him in his class sitting on his chair while they were singing. He is such a fun little boy, very active and wants to climb on everything. I feel like my job right now is just simply to keep this kid alive, because he is such a danger to himself. He climbs up onto everything and gets into everything. Today while in the bathtub with Savanna, I had to leave the room for a few minutes and when I came back he had dumped about 5 glasses full of water on the bathroom floor. What a mess! Anyway, I wouldn't trade him for the world. I feel bad sometimes because I am always putting to much responsibility on Savanna, I need to remember that she is only 5.

Mitchel opening his Spider man scooter!

He got a spider man scooter for his birthday. It is so cute watching him ride it!

Mitch blowing out his birthday candles

All the kids love to help blow out the candles!

Mitchel's birthday cake

We had a "Spider Man" birthday for Mitch. He turned 4 years old. I can't hardly believe it! We had such a fun birthday with all of our family there. He recieved tons of fun presents and he felt so special. I hope he knows how much we love him!

Weight Watchers

I'm sure that a lot of people are sick of me talking about Weight Watchers and my diet. But it has been the best thing that I have done for myself in a long time. As of today I have lost 42 lbs. I feel so much better about myself than I have since I started having kids. Today I was able to put on a pair of pants that I bought back in January on clearance at Old Navy. They are a size smaller and so I have been waiting to fit into them. Today I am wearing them! I still have a ways to go, but I feel so good about how far I have come. I have been working out really hard every day, and really watching what I eat. I am still far from perfect in my eating habits, but it is much better. It makes me feel so good when people make comments about how I am looking skinnier. Anyway, enough about that. Today we are just hanging out at home, trying to get some work done inside and out.

My family March 2008

Starting my blog

Ok, so I finally decided to start my blog. I have been looking at other people's blogs for the past few months and have seen so may cute ones. I hope that mine can be as fun to look at. I want to start doing this so that I can have a way of journaling my life for my posterity. I am excited to start this. I hope anyone that looks at this will enjoy it. Right now my life is so full with being a Mother, and a wife. I am so thankful for everything that I have.
