Valentine's Day

I love having a few excuses to celebrate, especially this time of year when everything is so cold and grey.  I got my kids some red shirts for the holiday, they also got some fun treats from the Grandma's.  We have had enough candy around here to really tempt me on my diet.

Pinewood Derby

I feel bad that we didn't get more pictures of our first pinewood derby.  Mitchel and his Dad spent weeks working on his car.  It won "The Most Classic Car" award.  It was a corvette and it looked way cool!  The only problem with it is that it didn't win any races on speed.  But Mitchel was happy to have such a cool car.  They had a lot of fun, and our ward has the best Cub Scout leaders and we feel really lucky to have been a part of it.

Annual Cabin Trip 2013

I have not posted for a long time, I don't know what my problem is.  Life has been good.  I am behind on my posting and hopefully I will get caught up in the next few weeks.

We had a wonderful trip a few weekends ago down to Salt Lake and to Park City Utah for our annual Cabin trip with the Hamilton's and most of Reid's Family (we missed Ben's family and Roxanne's family:)

We had such a great time!  The kids looked forward to this trip for weeks, in fact Treyton and Mitchel had their suitcases packed for 2 weeks before hand.  Some times the anticipation is better than the actual experience.

This is when we first got to the cabin, they were so excited for all the open space!
We usually ride up the hill to the cabin in a snowmobile, but this year we decided we needed the exercise so we hiked up the hill!  I was sore the next day, it was a different kind of workout than what I am used to.

I love this picture!  Savanna was helping Carolina eat her breakfast!
Reid anhd the boys went out looking for wildlife!
Me and Mitchel trying to get warm by the fire!
Carolina trying to blow the fire!  So cute!
Brad and Corri the wonderful hosts! (And Grandma in the corner!)
The girls getting ready to go to bed!
Ice fishing! The kids had such a blast fishing!  They all caught fish!

My poor Treyton- the picture doesn't do it justice how bad his face was.  He fell on the treadmill a few days before the cabin and then got sunburned while ice fishing and the poor kids face swelled up!
On our way home from Salt Lake we went to temple square and they went to the children's museum, it was so cool!
We had a lot of fun!

Grandma Call

My Grandma Call passed away on Sunday February 4th 2013.  She has not been well for about the passed 2 years and my parents moved her into their home.  This has been a wonderful way to spend time with her, because everytime we have gone to my parents home she has been there.  We have had many opportunities to serve her and to watch this amazing lady grow old gracefully until she passed away. It has been amazing watching my parents take such great care of her.

She had been doing pretty well other than her hearing and her sight she still had her sense of humor and was pretty self sufficient, my parents took care of her meals and laundry and such and had to help her bath because she didn't have much strength.  But the passed two weeks or so she really went down hill fast.  The last couple of times I saw her last week I could tell that she was dying.  It was hard to see her that way, but I am so grateful that I had the chance to see her so often and spend time with her.

She is such an amazing example to me of kindness, gratitude, humor, and enduring to the end.  She was the best Grandma a girl could ask for.  She was so incredibly supportive my entire life.  She never missed a dance recital, piano recital, baptism, baby blessing, or birthday party.  She loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

It has been wonderful having her so close and seeing my children get to know and love her.  My kids have been very concerned since her passing about where Grandma's body was and if we would see her again.  There is definately a hole in the place that Grandma sat at my parents home and she is going to be greatly missed.  It is wonderful to have the knowledge that we will see her again, and the knowledge that there is life after death.  Thank you for everything Grandma, I love you!
