This weekend we had the Van Sargent Family reunion at Sherwood Hills. It is in Logan, UT. We had a great weekend swimming, golfing, hiking, playing tennis, getting a pedicures at the spa, hanging out and talking, eating, and playing games. It was really relaxing and fun to spend quality time with each other. The weather was perfect, the kids had so much fun playing with their cousins, and each family had their own rooms so we could escape if we needed to get away. Sherwood Hills is a little bit run down, and the staff is very unknowledgable (they were kind of clueless when it came things about the facility) but overall it was a great weekend. The spa was very nice and the kids especially loved the swimming. They had a bigger inside pool, a small wading pool and a hot tub. We spent hours swimming.

We got back this afternoon and went to visit Reid's parents and found out that his Dad had a close call with his life. He was working at Ben's store trying to cut some cement with a gas powered machine and he got Carbon Monoxide poisoning and luckily was able to get out of the store before passing out. He made it over to Jimmy Johns and had them call 911. He spent some time in a hyperbaric chamber to saturate himself with oxygen. They told him that if he had spent 10 more minutes in there he would have been a goner. We are so happy that he is ok now!

Linda and I making cotton candy

Wow, this week has been kind of a blur. We have had lots and lots of fun in the sun and lots of fun activities. On Thursday we had the annual Koala Kids Academy Summer Carnival. So I got to work early to do my assignment of making cotton candy. The kids love the carnival, we have a big bouncer set up and lots of carnival games to play and cotton candy and snow cones. The kids came home with lots of fun prizes and I came home all sticky and covered with cotton candy.

On Friday I got up early and did my long run (8 miles) in preparation for the Mesa Falls half marathon that I am training for. This will be the 23rd of August. Then we went to the Rexburg spray park with my Mom, Leah, Ruth and Angie and all the kids. It was so much fun. All the kids really enjoyed themselves. After we were finished playing in the water we rode the carousel. And I had a bunch of very tired kids (and Mom's) when we got home. By evening last night I was not feeling at all well. I had a bad headache and an upset stomach. I think that I may have had a bit of heat exhaustion. I had to go to bed early, but I am feeling much better today.

Today we went to the Melaleuca summer picnic at Riverbend ranch. I won a ride on Frank's helicopter. So Reid and I were able to go on a ride and it was so much fun!!! We had a blast, I think that Reid especially enjoyed it. I feel so lucky that out of the thousands that work there I was one of about 60 that got to go. The kids had fun playing on all the rides and blow up toys at the picnic and we had way to much cotton candy, snow cones and pop. But oh well!! Now they are all asleep so I can take a minute and blog.

Tonight Reid has to go back to work, but I am excited because I am going with Natalie on a "girls night out" and we are going to see "Mamma Mia" I have been so excited to see this movie!

Cheerleading Camp

Savanna attending the Bumble Bee Cheerleading Camp the last two days. This was a fundraiser for the Bonneville High cheerleaders. She had so much fun. She learned to do a cheer, a dance, and some jumps. Today we got to go at the end of of and watch them perform for the parents. She looked so cute. I just want her to have a lot of opportunities to try things and then let her decide which direction she wants to go in.

Campbell Family Reunion

This last weekend we camping by the Teton River for the Campbell Family reunion. (Reid's Mom's side of the family). It was fun to spend the time with family, but I came home with about 100 mosquito bites. Luckily Reid and the kids didn't get many. Other than the mosquito's it was fun. Reid took Mitch and Savanna fishing, and we went for a canoe ride with almost everybody. There were 6 canoes on the river together. We had quite the adventure. Lori and McKinley almost tipped over their canoe and Holly and Troy and their kids did tip over their canoe. Luckily everyone made it out ok. All the kids had fun playing with their cousins and we got to spend time around the camp fire hearing Mickey and Uncle Jeff and Aunt Claudia talk about old times. It was fun to listen to and get to know them better.

On Saturday we packed up camp and headed to Green Canyon. We had a picnic and then went swimming. This was the best part of the weekend, there were no mosquitos and the weather was perfect and the kids loved playing in the water. (And I loved being able to wash my hair!) After swimming we had another camp fire and roasted hot dogs, smores and cinnamon rolls. Yes, cinnamon rolls. It was kind of cool, you take those canned cinnamon rolls and put them on a roasting stick and let them slowly cook and they are delicious. All in all it was a great weekend. The bad thing was that I went to take pictures and my camera's batteries were dead. So I didn't get any pictures. I am hoping that Mickey and Lori will send me copies of theirs.

The summer is going too fast

Savanna, Emily & Mitchel (our posers)
Emily, Savanna, Sarah & Mitchel

I can't believe that we are already 1/3 of the way through July. I realized today that I register Savanna for Kindergarten in less than a month. It is crazy to me that summer is going this fast! We are trying to cram in lots of fun stuff while we can.

This last Saturday Emily and Sarah (our nieces) came and played with the kids. They had lots of fun out jumping on the trampoline and playing in the little pool.
We are very excited for the Campbell family reunion this weekend. We are leaving tomorrow and coming back either late Saturday or early Sunday. I am hoping for Saturday since we are going somewhere that doesn't have showers. I may have to go find myself one before the weekend is over. We are going swimming Saturday morning to Green Canyon so at least I can shower there. Anyway, wish me luck since I am not the best camper. But I hope that we have fun, and I'm sure we will because we will be with our family.

4th of July at Blacktail

Steve

Dad, Ruth & me
me, Kolton Clements, Kenadee Harris & Ruth

Mitchel & Cooper playing in the water!

Me, my Dad and sister Ruth- this ride was so fun!!

My favorite brother Steve (also my only brother)- he tried to kill us on the tube, but we hung on for dear life!!

We went boating on the 4th after the parade. It ending up being so much fun. I was kind of thinking it wouldn't be because of how hot it was, and sometimes going boating with children is stressful. But it was so relaxing and I really enjoyed myself and so did the kids. Reid came and took me and the kids for a ride. He wouldn't get in the water, but I am not about to pressure him into doing anything that he doesn't want to do.

My Dad actually got in the tube with me and Ruth. Stevan took us for a ride, and I thought he was trying to kill us. He was driving so crazy, but Ruth and I were laughing so hard because of my Dad. He hasn't got in the tube ever that I can remember, but he was a good sport about it.

4th of July festivities

Treyton and me watching fireworks- he had to hold my hair. It is like his security blanket.
Mitchel trying to do a sparkler (but the ones we bought this year were duds!)
We had such a great 4th of July. On the night of the 3rd we went over to Reid's parents house and had dinner with them and then did our own little fireworks with them. Cori and Brad and their kids came, Danny was home, and Ben and Holly came over. It was just kind of relaxing and fun to watch the kids get so excited about the sparklers and fireworks.

Last T-ball games

Savanna getting ready to hit the ball.

Mitchel hitting the ball.

We finished t-ball for the season this last week. To be honest I was so releaved. Don't get me wrong, it was fun and good for the kids but it just was a lot. Savanna loved the whole season and got really good by the end. She told me that she loves t-ball and that she was sad that it was over. By the end of the season Mitchel did a lot better, but it was still a little bit of a struggle every single game. His last game on Wednesday was at 8:30 am, and he is not a morning person, so he didn't want to play. So I bribed him. I know that I shouldn't have, but I told him that if he tried, and actually ran and didn't complain I would buy him a prize. He has been wanting a new Batman watch that he saw at Walmart, so we went and got him one after the game. It was well worth the bribe, because he actually did try at his game and I think that he had fun.

Savanna had two games on her last day, one at 9:30 am and one at 2:30 pm. We got mixed up on the time because we thought it was at 1:30, so there was a bit of confusion and it turned out to be an all day thing. Oh well.
