5 weeks to go

I went to my Dr. appointment today, and so far everything is looking good with the baby. She said to plan on having the C-section on June 3rd, which is a Wednesday. It is exciting to think we will have a baby here soon, it still doesn't seem real. I guess I better get my onesies down and get them washed.

Mitch's birthday party

Mitch blowing out his candles
He got a new Spider Man bike
Mitch and all his cousins, that can't wait to see what he opens next.

He got a new Tonka truck from Treyton and Savanna

Wow, the anticipation.

This was Mitchel's cake that I made. He requested a white cake with Strawberries on it and the Hulk and Kung Fu Panda. So I did the best I could with those requirements. It's not the prettiest cake I have ever made, but he loved it.
We had a really fun time celebrating Mitchel's birthday tonight. He was so excited! It is fun to see your child get all that attention from everyone. We have a great family on both sides that are very supportive.

Reid's new truck

Reid finally sold his old truck, and was able to buy the truck he wanted. He got a pretty good deal on it. It is a 04 Dodge, that has a lot lower miles than his previous truck. The only problem with it is that it has a salvaged title, which means it has been totalled and put back together. That is why he was able to afford it. Hopefully we won't have any trouble with it. It looks really good and he is very excited about it.

Mitchel is 5 today!

Today is Mitchel's 5th birthday. I can't believe that it has already been 5 years with this little boy. We are having a birthday party later on this evening for him and I will post some pictures from that later, but here are a few things that I love about Mitchel.

1. Mitchel is my 2nd child, and because he is in the middle I think that sometimes he doesn't get as much attention as my other children. I feel bad about this, but it doesn't really seem to bother him. I am also the 2nd child in my family (and so is Reid) and so I really relate to him in this respect. He is very independant, likes to do things on his own, and doesn't care too much about being cuddled or given too much physical attention. I am also very much this way. He does get his feelings hurt easily, especially by his older sister, she seems to know exactly how to push his buttons.

2. Mitch was such an easy baby, (maybey this is why he doesn't require too much attention now) because he was so easy I could just let him sit in a swing, or bouncer for long periods of time and it didn't bother him as a baby. However, he made up for this as a toddler. He was pretty grumpy and not easy to please until about the last year. Now he is much more pleasant, and fun to talk to. He does really well for the most part.

3. He is very much a boy- he loves trucks, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, hunting, riding bikes- all things boys. He can play in his room for hours with his hot wheel cars and be totally content. He also likes to work right along side his Dad, and he is learning to be a hard worker.

4. He loves to play with his cousins and friends, but especially his cousin's Cooper & Elijah. But if at all possible he prefers playing at his own house. He is very much a home body, I think that he just likes his own space. He has had a few sleep overs with Grandma's and Aunt Sara, but for the most part he just likes to be at home. (The last time we were in SLC he kept telling me he just wanted to go home- I'm right there with you son.)

5. He starts Kindergarten in the fall. I am a little bit worried about this, he doesn't have much interest in school at all. He has been going to Koala Kids since he was a baby and does pre-school there, but he just is not that into it. I have to force him to practice writing his name, and he is just barely getting it. I really hope and pray that he can do ok with school work (this is completely opposite of Savanna, so it is hard for me to force him to sit down to practice.)

6. Mostly I just love him because he is mine, I am so blessed to have the chance to be his Mother!

Wow! I forgot how much work weddings are, I am exhausted from yesterday's festivities, but what a fun day. There were a few hitches but all in all everything went very well. When we got to the temple in the morning they realized that they had scheduled 3 weddings for the same room at the same time. So we had to wait almost an hour longer than scheduled for her wedding. But the ceremony was very beautiful and Leah seemed very happy. The luncheon was fun, and the song that the kids sang turned out great, and the song that us sisters sang went ok.

The reception looked really nice, and we had a huge turn out. My Mom had planned for about 200 people, and we had over 300 show up. We ran out of cups, ice cream and spoons. Luckily we were able to get to the store and back before we actually ran out of ice cream, but we did have to use some of the churches cups for the ice cream for a little while. But it was really fun to see all the support from people, and to be able to see people that we haven't seen for a long time. It was a fun and exhausting day- especially for an 8 month pregant women like me!

Crazy, busy, fun weekend

This weekend we had a lot of fun celebrating Easter. On Saturday we got to go to two seperate Easter Egg hunts. One in the morning at Grandma & Grandpa Fuhriman's and one in the afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Sargent's house. At Grandma Sargents all of the kids got a kite, so we spent a lot of time flying kites, which was a huge hit.

The kids had so much fun, and now we have more candy than we know what to do with. Unfortunately way too much of that candy has ended up in my mouth.

Easter Eggs

We did Easter Eggs tonight. It turned out really fun, the kids had a blast. This is the first time that I have done this with my kids, I have never had the desire to do them before. I guess I thought my kids were too young, and I didn't want the mess. But it turned out great other than one spill of the yellow dye. Oh well, that is what happens when you have a 2 year old.

Thank you Super Nanny

I have mentioned in earlier blogs that I had been having trouble with Treyton at bedtime. Ever since he figured out how to climb out of his crib, getting him to bed has been nothing but a head ache. He either had to be rocked until he was all the way asleep (which could take up to an hour) or he had to lay in bed with us, and once he was asleep we would take him to his own bed. But it was really starting to be a pain, especially when he would try to sleep with us. Then he would get up and wonder around the house, thinking he owns the place. I was starting to get very frustrated, especially since being pregnant I am so tired at night that I have no patience.

So after watching an episode of Super Nanny I tried her bedtime routine. And thankfully it worked. It took a week, but it is working. We moved him into the bottom bunk and Mitch to the top bunk. Then the first night of this, I sat in his room for over an hour and a 1/2 and had to put him back into his bed over 50 times, until he finally cried himself to sleep. The 2nd night took about 30 minutes, then for about 4 nights it took about 20 minutes each. But the last 2 nights he has gone to bed without crying, or trying to get out of bed and gone right to sleep. I feel like it is a little miracle. Hopefully it keeps working! Life is much better when you can go to bed without a 2 year old!

Happy Birthday to me!

My big Easter bunnys

Savanna and Mitch took the heads off the Easter bunny's and were pretending they were the bunny's.
Yesterday was my birthday, and it was a good day. Yes, I am a fool, when I was little I used to get very upset when people would play April fools day jokes on me for presents. Like empy presents or rocks wrapped up as presents. My Mom says that they learned early on not to play jokes on me for my birthday because it always made me cry.

I had to work yesterday, and I was glad that I did. I feel really lucky to have great friends at work that made me feel special on my birthday. Also my phone kept ringing all day long with calls and texts wishing me a happy day. My phone actually went dead from all the calls. It is so nice to know that people care.

Reid took me out to dinner with the kids to Red Robin on Tuesday night since he had to work on my birthday. I have been wanting to go since they opened so it was fun to finally get to go.

The kids and I finally put out our Easter decorations last night. They get so excited about doing it. I have these big Easter Bunny's that they just love. They like to play with them like dolls. I probably shouldn't let them play with them because they will get ruined, but I don't have the heart to make them stop. Now if we could just get some spring weather in time for Easter Egg Hunts.
