Mitchel's first wrestling match

tons of kids at the match
at the end of his Match

You can see him in the head lock- I didn't love watching it.
That's him in the red and black
While we were waiting for his turn, Carolina wanted to give him a hug.

We signed Mitch up for wrestling this year. We actually had him do it a little bit in the spring, but we got in to it late and he never did any of the matches. So on Thursday night he had his first match. It was kind of chaotic because there were so many people there and we didn't really know how it worked since we hadn't been to one before.

When he finally wrestled it was pretty intense. His first match he tried so hard, and it went a couple of rounds before he was finally pinned. When he got done he went right to Reid and started crying. I felt so bad for him. He told me later that he couldn't breathe. The kid he wrestled must have been doing it for a while because he was really good and at one point had Mitch in a head lock. It was crazy! The 2nd match Mitch pinned the other kid pretty quickly, so it ended on a good note for him. He came home with a medal and he was pretty excited.

Treyton's 4th birthday

We came home last night to a package in the mail from Aunt Sara, it was his birthday present which was 2 Hurley dogs- he loves them as you can see.
Treyton turned 4 yesterday, I can't believe that he is already that old. I remember so clearly being pregnant with him and the entire 9 months not feeling well. I think my pregnancy with him was the worst of all 4 kids. He was such a good baby, and is such a good little boy now. I feel so lucky to have him as my son. Here are 4 facts about Treyton:

1. He took a long time to talk, but once he got it he jabbers all the time. There are times that I have actually said to him, ok Treyton can you please quit talking to me for a while I need some quiet. (not my proudest Mom thing). But when we get around people, or situations that he is not comfortable with you cannot get him to say a single word, not even hello. There are probably people that wonder if he can talk at all.

2. He absolutely loves the PBS show Caillou. He would watch it all day if I would let him. I think we have seen every episode of it that was ever made. He loves it so much that he requested a Caillou cake.

3. He loves his baby sister Carolina, and they are buddies during the day when the big kids are at school, but he finds joy in tormenting her. He loves to take her blanket, or pacifier and make her scream. It makes his mother slightly crazy.

4. He loves to sing, read books with Mom, do puzzles, and do his preschool book. He goes around the house singing all kinds of songs all day that he learned at Preschool. Lots of the songs he sings I have never heard before. It is so cute to hear him sing. But it drives his brother Mitchel crazy. He also loves to sleep with Mom and Dad (which is a habit we are trying to break!)

His birthday celebration kind of started on Saturday when my Dad took him shopping for his present. He picked out a big package of lego's and some pajama's. Savanna, Mitch and Treyton have been playing with those legos non-stop since he got home from shopping. We then had 2 different birthday parties for Treyton. One with my side of the family on Sunday night, and one with Reid's side on Monday night. We also got to celebrate Grandpa Fuhriman's birthday yesterday. Too much fun.

Daddy Daughter Date- nerd style

Tonight was Savanna and Reid's first Daddy Daughter Date with the Achievement Days Group. They had a "nerd" theme and had to go dressed up like nerds. Savanna was so excited, and has been talking about it all week. Reid was a good sport and got all dressed up. They came home very happy and giggly. It does a Mom's heart good. Savanna got to shave her Dad's face, and learn how to tie a tie. Reid got to braid Savanna's hair amongst other activities. They said that they had to take off their shoes and socks and stand behind a curtain and then the daughter had to pick out their Dad's feet, and then the Dad had to pick out their daughters feet. I think that sounds so cute. Thanks to all the leaders that put together such a fun and memorable activity for the girls and their Dad's.

Football wrap up

Their team. Back row is Steve, Dawson Abrams, Kaiden Hansen, Cardon Orr, Kaiden Taylor, Cooper Sargent and Heath Jackson. Front row is Elijah Beck, Kaiden Dixon, Keegan Saunders, Hayden Jackson, and Mitch Fuhriman. (notice all the Kaiden's)

I posted earlier about Mitch playing flag football for the first time this fall. It was a really great learning year for the team. They struggled a bit and didn't win any games, but I'm sure they will do better next year. It was really fun to get out and cheer them on. My brother Steve and cousin Heath were their coaches and they did a great job!

Harvest Time

You can see in the background that we got the shed put back up, but also all the weeds in the garden. oops

I had really good intentions this year of having a nice garden. Then the weeds came, and I was out there several times a week pulling the weeds, and it was like they were multiplying faster than I could keep up. I started really getting discouraged and then the shed blew over on top of the garden and I gave up. So we didn't have any success except for the pumpkins, they did great! We have plenty for carving, and who knows I may even make a pumpkin pie.

Lesson's learned- sometimes the hard way

I want to write down some thoughts I have been having so that I will remember these feelings.

I think that I am meant to learn a life lesson because several times in the past few weeks it has been brought to my attention that I shouldn't have said, or told someone something that I did. I have never really thought of myself as a "gossip" and it has never been my intention to cause harm or hurt feelings to another person. However I have learned that even if hurt feelings are not intended they can be hurt anyway. I want to do better, I am turning over a new leaf. I know that I will still fall short of perfection but I know that with help from above I can be a better person.

I read this quote from Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf that says "As disciples of Jesus Christ, our Master, we are called to support and heal rather than condemn." It is not my responsibility to judge another, especially when I walk so imperfectly. I don't know what another person is going through so instead of placing judgement I will try to love and help where I can. I loved the talk by Pres. Thomas S. Monson at women's conference this year when he talked about how his wife couldn't find a seat at General Conference, and so when someone asked her to sit in some assigned seating she did so. Then heard some gossiping from the ladies behind her about "Who does she think she is that she can sit here". Then in that same meeting her husband was called as a General Authority. I'm sure those women felt bad about judging her before. I don't want to find myself in their shoes.

I am so thankful that our Savior makes it possible for me to repent and start over.

Cute new outfits from Sara and Shane

Savanna and Easton paying their DS's together.

Reid made the Barbie cake again, this time with white and pink. I think I like this one better

Today we celebrated Savanna's birthday party with my side of the family. We also got to celebrate Sara and Shane's birthday's today- there birthdays were in September, but since they were in town this weekend they got to share their celebration with Savanna.
We are always excited to see Sara and Shane, my kids love them both and are always excited to see their dog Hurley.

We also had a big family dinner and watched the afternoon session of conference together. It was really nice. I always love conference weekends.

Savanna's 8th birthday party #1

We made Savanna a "Barbie Cake" I am so impressed with Reid's cake decorating skills
turned out great!
We gave in to her desire for a DS lite- she has been asking for one of these for over a year.
She got a scripture bag from the Hamilton's, and a fun starter cooking kit from the Anglins, and some cute shirts from the Conovers.
Grandma and Grandpa gave her, her first set of scriptures- she is very happy about that.
Blowing out her candles.

Her beautiful cake
Because both of our families go all out for birthdays sometimes it is easier to celebrate them seperately. Last night we went to Reid's parents house and had dinner and a birthday party for Savanna. She was so excited to celebrate her big 8. I can't believe that it is possible that she is 8 years old. She is such a good little girl. She is very responsible, kind-hearted, smart, sensitive to others, and a blessing in our family. I feel so lucky that she is our daughter. She is so excited to get baptized next month.

Spider party

All the kids from party in their spider shirts with Grandma. (She also had the 2 Clements kids from the neighborhood come, and my cousins Denise came with her 3 kids.) Also Val's daughter Karlee came, but she had to leave a little early for family pictures.

It was hard to get everyone looking at the camera.

In following my Grandma Romrell's tradition, my Mom has fun little parties for her grandkids. This was her 3rd annual "Spider Party". The kids each made their own individual pizza's, they decorated cupcakes like spiders, each did an individual report on different kind of spiders, had a treasure hunt that ended with a new spider t-shirt and treats, had a little lesson on Charlotte's Web by Sara and how important it is to be a good friend, and pin the spider on the web. The kids had a riot, and everyone was exhausted by the time it was over. It was a total success. Thanks Mom for giving my kids the same kind of experiences that I had as a child. These are treasured memories.
