Gymnastics Girl

Savanna is taking gymnastics, and she loves it! I'm really glad that she does, but she is starting to drive me nuts!! She goes around the house all day long doing cartwheels, hand stands, backbends, headstands, and whatever else she can do. She is completely unaware of what is going on around her so we have had many "accidents" when she has kicked someone in the face on her way to doing one of her tricks. I am about to put my foot down and say no more gymnastics in the house. It is hard because I want her to be able to develop her talent, but I am on my last nerve with it!!

I laughed so hard when I read this post. Whenever I say anything about this to my mom she just laughs and says I am getting what I deserve. Elizabeth once kicked the table so hard doing a cartwheel she broke her toe! Good luck with outlawing gymnastics in the house.

I'm so glad Savanna is loving gymnastics and that she is so good at it! I think McKinley is going to end up liking dancing a lot more. It's kind of crazy to think of little Savanna doing real gymnastics!! She's getting so old!

Rachel, here is an idea. take the back half of the basement, put down those mats that Holli and Ben gave the kids for Christmas last year, and tell her to practice away, and if anyone is in the nastic zone and gets hurt====sorry! stay clear.

I'm with Mickey's comment. But hey, if you ever figure out the magic formula to having an activity happen not everywhere, let me know! My boys (Jakob especially) jump on and off of everything, and climb on anything, etc.

P.S.-If you need any musical numbers for the Christmas program, I'd be more than willing to accompany someone, or I could try to find a piano arrangement of one of the songs that you're looking for. (I'd call you, but it's really late, and I know I'll forget tomorrow to call you until it's really late again.) Anyway, just let me know. Also, I hope you got my email...

O my goodness that is not good!!! :) It would be driving me crazy too. I think if she is 6 years old and doing that good with gymnastics she is already a pro and doens't need to learn anymore. I can't even do a cartwheel. LOL Good luck with that.

This totally reminded me of when I was 6 and in gymnastics. I practiced all the time and was the same way as Savannah (no regard to who is around or what is happening around her). I broke my baby sister's nose (I think she was about Trey's age)when I was using a cooler to do flips off in the front yard. (There was a lot of blood-ugh) Try to keep a close eye on it or you may have a crisis! :S
