Our trip to Boise

We went to Boise this last weekend so that Reid could participate in the Idaho City 100 reliability endurance race. This is a race through the mountains that is extremely difficult for the most experienced racers. Reid has been riding dirt bikes for only 3 years. This years race was 120 miles. He trained for this race for several months and did great. However due to a flat tire he had to quit at mile 95. He was very disappointed but still had a great time. It was kind of a blessing in disguise that he had to quit because he was feeling very sick.

Reid's friend Josh and his family went also. So the kids and me were able to spend the day on Saturday with Natalie and her kids. We had a lot of fun letting the kids play. We had a picnic, went and watched for the guys as they came in on their gas stops, and just spent the day enjoying the sun.

On friday we drove to Caldwell and spent the evening with Reid's Aunt Chris and Uncle Bob. They had a nice BBQ for us and their family. We really enjoyed getting re-acquainted with them. I felt very bad because I didn't get any pictures with them at their house.

One of the highlights of the trip for the kids of course was playing in the pools at the hotel, we don't stay at hotels often so it is a real treat for them.

We also stopped on our way home at Twin Falls and went and saw Shoshone Falls- they were beautiful. That is something I have never seen before and I was glad that we took the time to go and see it.

The weather in Boise was beautiful, we had a wonderful time on our little vacation. In fact so much fun I wouldn't mind going again next weekend!

Looks like you had a good weekend. Too bad about the flat tire for Reid. Next year... Camping is fun, but it sure is nice to stay in a motel once in a while. The falls are beautiful! How fun to be able to stop on the way home!
