T-ball, Pitching Machine & Softball

This summer we were lucky enough to participate in Iona baseball for like the 7th or 8th year in a row.  This is one of my favorite times of the year.

Savanna had the chance to play fast pitch softball for the first time this year.  They had a great little team, but it was definitely a learning year for the girls.  We are a young team and didn't win very many games, but I think all the girls had fun and learned a lot.  I had the opportunity to help coach the team with Tonya Byington and Mariann Virgin.  We are hoping that we can keep the team together for a few more years because all the girls have lots of potential.  Savanna is a great ball-player and she excelled at being the catcher and 1st baseman, although she is really good at all the positions in the field.

Mitchel played pitching machine this year with his cousins Cooper and Elijah with many other friends.  Health Jackson and Phillip Beck coached their team.  They had a great year and won most of their games.  These boys are finally getting to the point where they know what they are doing.  Mitchel had a couple of home runs this season, and when he hits the ball it always goes far.  He is a great fielder because he is so quick.  Mitch is still trying to decide if baseball is something he wants to continue playing, but for this year it was a great season!
Treyton played t-ball this year for the 2nd year in a row.  He absolutely loves it and takes it very seriously.  Ruth and I were able to coach his team this year, with the help of Phillip Beck.  It was such a fun team, and they had a great season with lots of innings where they got 3 outs (this doesn't happen much in t-ball).  Treyton loves to play catch, and any base that gets lots of action.  He is a fast runner and can't wait until next year when he can play pitching machine!
