Our version of a Pioneer Trek

I think that the kids looked so cute all dressed up in their pioneer attire!
My cute Carolina
Steve and Angie's family
Me and my kiddos
Here is the original Ozone sign

Pulling trying to keep the trailer from getting out of control on the downhill.  I bet the pioneers would have loved a stroller like this!
Kent and Talmage
Mitchel loved hauling the handcart
Steve
Angie and Debbie
Sara and baby Charlotte
Calvin
The whole Sargent clan
I loved this view from behind

I love this shot of Carolina and Kate from behind.

This last year for Christmas my Mom got us the movie "17 Miracles" about miracles that occured while the Mormon Pioneers crossed the plains.  It is a great movie and a real tear jerker.  I loved the movie and so did my Mom.  She also made all the grand daughters pioneer bonnetts, and bought the boys pioneer hats.  She also bought a little handcart and told us all to plan on doing a pioneer trek this summer.  So she planned it all and we did it this last week.  We went up to Ozone (or what used to be Ozone) which is towards Bone.  My Mom's family on the Otteson side used to homestead there back in the late 1800's and now my Mom's cousin has a cabin where the town used to be.  So we went up there and did a little over a mile trek, dressed up in our pioneer attire and then met at the cabin for some pioneer stories and some dinner.  It ended up being many more family members besides my parents immediate family, because my Mom decided it would be a great opportunity for our cousins and aunts and uncles too.  It turned out really great and I am glad we did it.  It really makes you appreciate in a small portion of what the pioneers went through.

One of my choices experiences is 5 years ago when we went to Martins grove. It was amazing. How fun for all of you. Some pretty special pioneers for sure! Grandma Mickey
