Van Sargent Family Reunion Lava Hotsprings 2014

We just finished another successful family reunion with my family.  We went to Lava Hot Springs this year and camped Thursday-Saturday.  We stayed at the Smith Trout Haven camp ground, which is just basically some guys big field of grass.  It ended up being a great place to camp because it was all grassy and we didn't have to worry about the kids playing in the dirt.  We got there on Thursday and as soon as we got our camper un-hooked we ended to the Lava pools.  It was a lot of fun, they have such a nice pool and lots of fun slides.  They kids had a blast playing there and so did all the adults.  Then on Friday we drove to Bear Lake and spent the day on the North Shore and played on the beach and in the water all day. Reid borrowed Aaron and his Mom's water trampoline so the kids had a lot of fun playing on that, but I think our favorite thing about Bear Lake is making sand castles.  Then on Saturday most of the men got up and went golfing (Reid decided he didn't want to go).  And the rest of us stayed back and camp and made duck tape bags, wallets, flowers, lanyards, and picture frames.  It was a lot of fun.  After lunch some of us headed over and floated the Portneuf River, which ended up being a so much fun, I enjoyed that activity more than anything else we did.  It is definitely something I would love to do again.  It really was a great time.  Even though we spend a lot of time already with my family, it is nice to go somewhere new and spend that quality time bonding and get to know each other on a different level.
