This last week has been a pretty big emotional rollercoaster.  On Wednesday May 21 Grandpa passed away at his home.  Chris and Dale went up to their home to help put them to bed and found him dead on his pink leather recliner.  They were unsure so they called my Mom and had her and Ruth go up and double check, and sure enough he was gone.  Grandpa wanted to be able to take care of Grandma until she could go, unfortunately he passed first.  Thankfully I was able to go up and see him before the funeral home came and took him.  There was such a wonderful spirit in the home as all of my aunts and uncles and many of us cousins were there and had a wonderful prayer together.  We know that Grandpa had suffered very long with not feeling well.  But thankfully he was in his right mind pretty much until the very end.  He was so loving to Grandma over all the years of her suffering with dementia.  I will never forget the night that he passed, my aunts really wanted Grandma to tell him how much she loved him, she just kept saying "I already told him 10 times." 

We were blessed with a miracle when Grandma started failing the very next day after Grandpa died.  She had dementia and was not herself for many, many years.  We all thought that she would go first.  Two days later on May 23, Grandma passed through this mortal journey and was able to join Grandpa in Heaven.  I was able to take my children up to see her the day that she died, she looked very ready to go.

I feel so blessed to be a part of their family.  It has felt pretty sad the past few days knowing that they are gone, although it is such a blessing to know that they are in a better place, and that they are no longer in bondage in their earthly bodies that have held back their spirits. My Grandparents were such great examples of hard work, love and dedication.  I feel truly blessed to be their Grand daughter. 

Their funeral was a spiritual feast, it was really neat to be able to celebrate these two wonderful people during the same funeral.  I will miss having living Grandparents, but I feel so blessed to have learned from them to this point in my life.  Not many people my age still have living Grandparents so I know that I have truly been blessed.

The first signs of spring time

I love Spring (and Autumn for that matter), and in Idaho that is kind of a fleeting thing. It's usually either freezing and windy and cold, or it is blazing hot.  It is kind of rare to have mild temperatures so when we get them it is wonderful!  One of my favorite things about spring is when the tulips come.  I have them, but they don't come up very good at my house, but I really enjoy what I get of them.  It is always such a feeling of hope that the long harsh winter is over!  I am so grateful for the fresh start that spring brings!

A new van

We drove our 2000 Honda Odyssey for 7 years, I loved that van.  I was so excited when we paid it off and we actually had a car paid for, for several years.  (this is not normal for us, unfortunately).  Then we got the truck paid off and we had no car payments for about 3 months.  Over the past year we have had many repairs on the van, quite costly but we kept telling ourselves it would be ok, its a Honda and it will keep running forever.  Then we found out that the transmission was starting to go out.  This was going to be a very costly fix, since the fix would cost more than the van was worth we decided it would be best to cut our losses and trade it in.  We looked around for a little while and Reid did a bunch of research.  We test drove several vans and ended up getting the 2014 Toyota Sienna.  We are super excited to drive a brand new vehicle.  We ended up leasing it, which after doing some research found this was a good deal for us.  We were really happy with Teton Toyota and would go back there or recommend them to anyone.

It seems like just yesterday that I was pregnant with Mitchel, my darling baby boy.  He is now 10, it does not seem possible!  I can always remember how long I have worked at Koala Kids because I was like 9 months pregnant with him when they hired me.  Mitchel is a great kids.  He loves to dirt bike, wrestle, do anything his Dad is doing, and he is a great boy.  He does not like reading or school work so we will keep working on that.  He is taking piano lessons right now and does well when he puts his mind to it.  He is also playing baseball this year for the little league, we hope he has a great season.

He had a great birthday this year!  We had a full weekend of celebrating.  We went to IJump on Saturday and it worked out that Ben and His family were here from Seattle so they got to come with us, we went out for Birthday dinner at Chili's which is his favorite and of course we did cake and ice cream and opened presents.  On Sunday Grandma Sargent made him his favorite dinner of pork ribs and we had cake and ice cream and opened presents.  He had so much fun!
